Introduction

Naming Conventions: a common naming scheme for a set of objects. This practice is beneficial in a multitude of situations. By joining in on a particular naming convention standard you are promoting the organizational use of your mod - which makes your mod that much more professional. Does the mod name make sense with what the mod intends to do?

Does the file names match the mod name?

Proper naming conventions

Mod name

Name your title according to what it does. This does not have to be specific and there is a lot of leeway for making interesting and catchy mod names.

File Names

Whatever you name your mod, name your files the same! If your mod name is different from the file names, it only causes confusion and frustration on the part of your users (note: remove spaces and special characters from the file names if you use those in the mod name). Example:

WeaponModKits.esp
WeaponModKits.txt
textures\WeaponModKits\WMK_AwesomeWeapon_d.dds
textures\WeaponModKits\WMK_AwesomeWeapon_n.dds
meshes\WeaponModKits\WMK_AwesomeWeapon.nif
